To achieve this broader perspective he encouraged people to view land and sea borders as <b>cultural corridors.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Professor Fr\u00e9chet, Professor of Irish Studies in the Sorbonne, Paris, took great interest in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ianadamson.net\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Adamson\u2019s<\/a> work. <span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1475231029111_2909\" lang=\"EN-US\">Fr\u00e9chet<\/span>\u00a0followed Adamson&#8217;s involvement in the creation\u00a0of several community organisations in Northern Ireland such as;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Farset Youth &amp; Community Development Project established in1982 in Belfast<\/li>\n<li>The Somme Association established in 1989<\/li>\n<li>The Ullans Academy established in 1992 in Belfast<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These organisations were developed to help communities who were enduring the greatest effect from conflict to find another way forward. Each one of these ideas would go on to create many more projects such as;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Steps of Columbanus project in 1985<\/li>\n<li>The re-dedication of the Ulster Memorial Tower at the Somme Battlefields, France in 1989<\/li>\n<li>The building of the Irish Peace Tower in Messines, Belgium<\/li>\n<li>The opening of the Somme Museum in Conlig in 1994, Co Down,<\/li>\n<li>St Patrick Breakfast Events 2004 \u2013 present<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Feast of Columbanus\u2019 Events 2013<\/li>\n<li>The publication of the Plain Scots Bible Volumes 1 &amp; 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the 1970\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ianadamson.net\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Ian Adamson<\/a> wrote and published his books on the history of Ulster to create a broader perspective to the rich cultural heritage of Northern Ireland.
