In a photo by Sgt Janine Fabre of AHQ, Dr Ian Adamson, OBE, Vice President of the Somme Association, stands in tribute with soldiers of the Australian Army at Thiepval Memorial, France. His two grandmothers’ cousin William Sloan was killed on 1st July, 1916 and has no known grave. He is commemorated with his comrades on Pier and Face 15A and 15B of the Memorial.
