The Pretani Education Programme – The Chester Beatty Library

To further research the profound effect of Islamic Civilisation on Western Europe, Pretani Associates visited the Chester Beatty Library on the grounds of Dublin Castle. This was established by Sir Alfred Chester Beatty to house his unique collections of manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books and decorative arts from the Islamic, East Indian, Far Eastern and Western traditions. The Library is one of the premier sources for scholarship in both Old and New Testaments. The museum includes one of the surviving volumes of the first illustrated Life of the Prophet and the Gospel of Mani believed to be the last remaining artefact from Manicheanism.
